Make and Break Switch

The three steps shown above correspond to:

1. Measuring the CNT device
2. Making a connection to ground, before breaking the connection to measurement equipment.
3. The CNT device is now safely grounded so that the measuring equipment can be disconnected.

This type of make and break switch is often used when attaching measurement equipment to a wire-bonded nanoscale device. The three steps can be carried out in reverse order.
